Hello All,
I have taken up a job in Hoffman Estates and we are planning to move next month. I need suggestions with apartments. We are a young Indian couple moving from East Coast.

Here are my requirements:
1) Safe neighborhood
2) Willing to commute up to 30 mins to Hoffman Estates
3) Quick access to Metra (~45 mins or less to Downtown), preferably convenient for park-and-ride
4) Looking for a 2 bedroom-apartment, preferably in a newer apartment complex, willing to pay upto $1300.00/month
5) We don't have kids, so no requirements with school districts

Thank you for responses.

Sincerely,
RajB

Village Green (Plum Grove and Schaumburg Rd) and Lincoln Meadows (Schaumburg Rd and Martingale)
are nice when I drive by them. You might want to try going to realtor.com and looking for something to rent. You might get a better deal.

Schaumburg and Streamwood west of Barrington Road and east of Rte 59 have a ton of townhomes that are nice. I'm sure a lot of them are available for rent.

If you are set on an apartment, try rent.com. I know there is a website where people rate their apartments and Lincoln Meadows got some of the best ratings.

Good luck!

Thank you for the answers, Purplesky. Is there a website that lists townhomes for rent? I am checking Craigslist.

Thanks for your help.

Regards,
Raj

Go to realtor.com and check the box under rent instead of buy. I think websites like remax.com also let you do this too.

Craigslist is good as well.

Village Green is nice and quiet; I lived there for a year and had no problems whatsoever (I moved because I wanted to be in the city). The maintenance is responsive and the construction of the buildings themselves is solid; concrete floors and thick walls keep noise to a minimum so you won't hear your neighbors next to or below/above you. The finishes (counter tops & appliances) were a bit cheap and dated, though and the in-unit washer and dryer are pretty small and ineffective.

Good luck in your search!
