What are you looking for in terms of the city and how far out to the burbs will you be going? The near west burbs of Oak park and forrest Park, ect. are probabky your best bet. In terms of living in the city itself the near west side(west loop) area would be good also but not quite as well located as the burbs.

Default Confused???

The OP is thinking of moving I to Chicago and will still need to commute TO the western burbs for work? Little location field says they are currently in Naperville...

If OP wants to take Metra out o Naperville, deal with thin reverse commute options for BNSF and has determined that PACE or employer shuttle is an option they probably should also be able ro understand that walking to Union Station means West Loop / Greek Town is good option. If they want much longer day I suppose other options are possible...

If they want to drive to someplace like Naperville from even MedCenter area I would think about checking with the Psych Dept., days would really be awful...

Of course more details would help to understand both current situation and future plan.

I'm looking to commute to the Naperville/Aurora area...I realize this is a crazy commute. I am considering Oak Park. HOWEVER, if I were to commute from the city (and I have friends who do it), which neighborhood would be best as far as access to the burbs? Thanks!

It depends if you are driving or taking the train.
