I searched for this to no avail

Yeah we're not costal, but where is the best Seafood in Chicagoland? Price is not much of a concern, but good food is. Burbs or city, I split my time between Lincoln Park and Hinsdale, but willing to explore.

Thanks for any info

I don't think there was a thread specifically for this topic only in the past. Thanks for looking and making a thread.

Thanks Tony. I posed this question on twitter and got crickets. Yeah I realize Chicago is not famous for its seafood. I'm just hoping there is a diamond in the rough out there somewhere.

I used to like Cy's Crab House a lot, but it is gone now. I don't go out for seafood much,so I am not the best person to answer the question. I do think Shaw's is decent though.

Joe's Stone Crab is awesome. Also, McCormick and Schmicks has more than one location in the area as well and they're pretty good.
Also Hugo's Frog Bar has been highly recommended to me, though I have not tried it yet to vouch for it personally.

Restaurants or stores? For stores Dirk's and Isaacson and Stein are two of the best places.

If you're asking about restaurants, what type of seafood? There are hundreds of great places. If money is truly no concern then L2O is the best, no questions about it. If money is a concern then the Grand Seafood Collection at The Publican or Calumet Fishery are your best bets (but again, what TYPE of seafood?)

Lawrence's on Canal and Calumet Fishery on 95th St.

Johnson's Door County Fish on Roosevelt in Lombard that has good walleye and Lake Superior whitefish dinners; funky little joint on the north side of the street. IMO nothing is better than good walleye.

Default best seafood in Chicago

Hello, I just had back surgery, Spinal cord Stimulator, and my Darling Husband said, when I recover he is taking me to Chicago for the weekend, no kids! WOO HOO. We are having Deep Dish at Gino's East on Friday night and are looking for a great Seafood Place for Saturday night. Ive looked at RIVA at Navy Pier and Joe's ( with those big crab claws) . Any suggestions from Chicago locals? I also want a hotdog. Im sure Im going to gain 10 lbs but I dont care. This will be the first time I can walk without a walker or go someplace without a wheelchair.

Joe's is awesome. My favorite seafood joint in Chicago thus far.

For high-end fine dining, the recently 3 Michelin star awarded 3 Michelin L20 is mostly seafood.
