Hi I just moved to Chicago the other day for college and I would love to make some friends so I can hang out with on the weekends. I'm Guyanese/Indian and meeting new people is something I really love doing. Anyone interested?

I'm no longer in Chicago, so I can't help directly, but I can tell you that just going out to bars in Andersonville, I would meet like 10 super nice people a night. I would also advise looking into joining groups that you might be interested in.....

Cosign to this. Very much a community feel to the neighborhood that isn't found in every neighborhood. And not just the bars, either. I met TONS of folks in the cafes and stores. I used to frequent the Women and Children First bookstore, which at the time had, and probably still has, a bulletin board with all kinds of events posted. I joined a writers circle that was advertised that way, and met some awesome people who gathered weekly.
