Gun shops and shooting ranges....

Real heavy manufacturing like forge and machine shops, like we used to have....

I had Carls Jr in California and it was THE best burger place ever, so definitely some Carls Jr in not only Chicago, but all over the midwest.

I think we need less chains and more small local stuff.

Yes. Pickle shops. Also small independent do nut shops. Bookstores (dead business model) but I did enjoy them when they were around. Also the old style bakeries, bring some of them back. I would like to see in and out burger even though it is a chain. Also any good independent unique restaurants or shops selling unique and high quality food items.

Hardee's is the same thing kinda like Rally's/Checkers are the same. So while we don't have any in the city and not very many in the Chicago area, there are plenty throughout the Midwest by a different name.

I love In-N-Out but realistically, it's going to take them another 40+ years to make it here if they ever do. Honestly. They are a privately owned company (one family) and every single "restaurant" is in CA, UT, and AZ except two in the Dallas area.

They've been around as long as McDonald's I believe, and they make $$ so really...if they wanted to, they would be around here already. I hope they do come, but it's going to take them forever to do it.

A good Sicilian pizza place like the ones found in Detroit (Buddy's, Papa Romano's and Happy's). I have been to the Happy's on S. Halsted and I am slowly eating the frozen leftovers from my last pizza, but it is a hike. I would love to see one in Hyde Park or someplace on the north side. And Hungry Howies.

Steel mills, machine shops, shipyards and shoe factories. I'd like to see businesses that put many thousands to work at high wages.

I'd like too see more Fry's and Culvers within the city too. Mariano's is a great new grocery store with cheaper food than Walmart, - there's only two of them in the city.

Now if In N out had delivery for $30 I'd try them.
