You guys have a really great station down there. I was listening today on the internet and I was very impressed. They dont play the same songs over and over and over again and was pleased to hear some new songs I had never heard. I assume locally most people over look their local radio stations, but I have to say to compared to some of the other big city urban stations I have been listening to WGCI was very solid.

Ha! The dudes at my work have WGCI playing all day. You *definitely* hear the same songs over and over...and over.

Even less so now that Rickey Smiley is on there. I miss Trey the chocolate jock, Donnie DaVoe, and the Bulu mix.

The search for Trey (I never heard of him) brought up his interview with Russell Simmons that got derailed by Simmons and was reported in a UK music rag thats been around since 1966. If you like Hip Hop, Blues, Jazz, Soul, etc., you will probably like the magazine. (It is a good read.)

I noticed they have offices in NYC and LA but NOT in Chicago. Shame on them. I can't believe Chicago doesn't have some interesting musicians.

GCI is a good station. Once you get over 40 it becomes more V103. Confirmed by President Obama.

The exception to this are the clubbing hours of Friday & Saturday nights. You'll hear some nice mixes during these times on WGCI, Power 92.3 and the other urban and party stations like B96. For Euro house heads, there's nothing like 92.7 at night either. Other times they might break the script are during the day on holidays (which are usually on weekends as well).
