Singles bars/Hook up bars (Chicago, Lincoln: home, buy, casino)

I am a 26 yo guy that just moved here, where can I go to meet ladies on a Friday night? Where do they tend to be friendliest? Also, in Chicago is it advisable to wear a blazer when going out and be casually formal or just wear jeans and a t-shirt and just be casual.

Have you checked out the bars on/around Rush and Division? Those are notorious hook up bars.

Wear whatever makes you look best. If you workout 7x a week and have a perfect body wear a t-shirt and jeans. If you have a gut and need to cover it up, go for a blazer.

Re: blazer totally depends where you go. Like Jman said, it's not that hard. Big city, lots of girls. Just find a place where you are comfortable. Happy hunting.

Pretty much any bar in the city you could hook up with someone in honestly. You just have to play your cards right obviously. As others have said though, go to Hubbard, or anywhere on Rush/Division really, or Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Wicker Park, etc. Not all women are at bars to hook up, but obviously there are a good amount who wouldn't mind that.

As far as the blazer stuff goes, it depends on where you are. If you're going into the Pump Room in the Gold Coast, then sure you might want to wear a blazer, but really..it depends on what looks best on you and where you're going. If you're going to wear a blazer to a bar, at least wear nice jeans with it and not slacks (unless it's like the pump room and you have a $10,000+ James Bond-esque suit like everyone else there). Hell, you could buy a very fashionable Armani long sleeved t-shirt and it could look better than a blazer does on people. It all depends on where you are, your body type, and what looks good. Nobody is going to look at you weirdly for wearing a blazer at most places though.

Are you going out alone? I doubt you will have any luck meeting women if you are by yourself at a bar. It seems crazy to me that anybody would go home with someone who was all alone.

I would focus on making friends to hang out with first. Join the chicago meetup site to meet new people and make friends. Interact with those around you, and in your building. Find at least one person who is down to go pick up girls, then it wont matter what bar you go to.

I always found it easier alone than with a big group of guys. Less competition, for one thing.
