Okay, another random question that I have been curious about, someone had mentioned that the best chances for improvements to areas and gentrification would be along the CTA El lines, I have never been on the Pink line or know much about it, but I have heard that there had been a lot of changes going on in Pilsen which this line runs through the western portion of it.

I was curious what people here have to say about that line and the areas it runs through in their present day conditions and future possibilities, Pilsen, Douglas Park, and Lawndale (both north and south, seeing it looks like it cuts through those two parts.)

I know a lot about the northside of Chicago cause that is where I have spent the most time, and I am also aware of the amount of blight that has a stranglehold on the southside, but I am curious about the westside of the city where I know very little about other than the handful of times I have been in Wicker Park, ridden the Blue Line to OHare, and a brief visit to UIC to look at their grad program in architecture (which I was really impressed by.)

Why not just take the Pink Line to 18th Street and/or the Damen stations and walk around to see for yourself?

If you go a few more stops, it'll be Douglas Park, which is also starting to gentrify. The strong Mexican influence in Pilsen probably kept it form gentrifying more, but with fewer immigrants it may see more gentrification once the markets and jobs situations turn around again.
