the historical attendance figures are not a cliche
They're BOTH on WGN (and occiasionally WCIU) and on pay TV.

Or to walk to the Metra station at Van Burren / Jackson. And quite possibly head south..

..For a long commute.

If the Red line is packed after a game (this happens a lot) you can always walk a couple of extra blocks to the Green Line or the State St. bus.

I've become a fan of taking the State Street bus in the last few years. The area has changed a lot in the last 10 years, and since Jimbo's closed down I usually take the bus up to a couple bars I like around Printer's Row and then walk to the Blue Line after a few drinks.

Well, yes, that too.

But a few years ago he bought his newborn daughter a head-to-toe 'Sox fan' outfit - cap, shirt, matching blue pants, jacket, pennant - that she'd finally be big enough to don at age 2-3. She can wear it on game days now, much to the chagrin of her mother (who wants to dress her entirely in almost universally magenta/teal and chocolate 'baby/children's boutique' outfits. ).

But anyway - yeah - the trip to Oakland was probably some homage to his two greatest non-familial loves: the White Sox and his motorcycle.

To be fair the Cubs probably have a higher TV rating because Hawk Harrelson is awful.

Fortunately, TV ratings do not get you a World Series title.

Not true. TV contracts are where teams make money. That's why you keep hearing the buzzwords big and small markets in baseball.

Well that would explain why the Cubs win the World Series and the NLCS every year. Meanwhile, smaller market teams have out preformed the Cubs (Marlins, Rockies, D' Backs, Athletics, Rays, etc).

The combined World Series titles between those teams in the past decade: 1

(BTW, the Marlins spent a ton of money in 1997 and this past off season)
