I thought I was leaving this 100 degree weather when I leave Texas! It's been over 105 everyday this week here. Oy. I guess I'm just exchanging our 50 degree winters for 15 degree winters up there.

The difference between Texas and Illinois (chicago)
This is not typical as the stats show yesterday was the hottest day since 2005.

Albeit Chicago has its share of hot , sultry weather.

Not Texas Hot!

The best month here is late september thru mid october..

BEAUTIFUL

Having lived both down there and up here, trust me, there's a huge difference between 100 once every few years and 100 every day (and sometimes 110) for weeks on end. In terms of frequency I'd say 90 here is about like 105 is there, and 100 here is about like 115 there. There's also a huge difference in how much it cools off at night here vs. there. You're coming to much cooler summers. Yesterday was a fluke.

We moved last summer from Oklahoma. As you can see yesterday was an exception to the rule and that's why everyone is talking about it. Last summer was beautiful and there never was a day I would call "hot" or choose to stay inside. Being somewhat used to the heat we spent yesterday at the Brookfield zoo and nearly had the place to ourselves :-)
