i'm making a video slideshow of the stills i took on my trip and there's one place i'm not sure of the name. what's that park just across the street from the Navy Pier entrance where the Lake Point tower apartments are? i also remember there being a couple of sculptures on the lawn that i just can't seem to see on any satellite view of the area. anybody know the names of those sculptures?

There is a temporary exhibit during the summer called

and the park? is it separate from the pier or part of it?

I don't know legally who controls it, but it's called Gateway Park.

In "front" of Lake Point Tower to the East is Gateway Park, as already indicated. It's part of the Navy Pier complex.
Navy Pier Chicago: Historic Navy Pier is Chicago's lakefront playground!
In "front" of Lake Point Tower to the North (across from the entry to LPT) is Jane Adams Memorial Park.
