Anyway, I love the idea. I really love that they're pushing tech here and this could really foster the talent that's in the midwest/Chicago and if good enough could keep some of that talent here instead of moving it out West (or some places East). I would be interested to see even more plans for this. Could be pretty big don't you think?

I thought there was talk or plans of having the [U.S. version of] high-speed rail head south to Champaign and then west through Springfield before continuing on to St. Louis?

Wonder where this will be located. Presumably it should be close to downtown would good transit access. I'm not sure how much space this would require, but they'd probably want enough room to grow in the future. That probably means near west side or near south side, somewhere along the green/blue/red lines.

In only there was a
big chunk of empty land close to UIC, close to the Loop, not too far from IIT, with great access to transit ...

What's the cost/benefit of having a high-speed rail from here to there? Sounds extremely expensive, and would probably need to be heavily subsidized. For what exactly?
