Of course, gang related. Perhaps I am disconnected from reality, but why in the world do these people mess around with gangs? Drugs? Money? Why do they not see there is no "value" in gangs anymore?

I wasn't referring so much to the men who did the shooting but more so towards the father himself. The way I read it, without a gang affiliation the father would not have been a target. It seems the gangs are targeting one another, or those related not just random citizens. So my question is more about why someone would ever become gang affiliated to begin with? Is it for Drugs? For money? Once in a gang, I see them as 'zombies' like you mentioned. Those individuals are lost hope and are capable of anything without remorse.
But somewhere at some point those gang members WERE innocent human beings. What motivated them to join the dark side?

I am ashamed to live in a country where 1st graders get shot at school, and gang members shoot babies. I'd be fine with melting down all of the firearms in a furnace... And the gang members too. And the loner losers who think that killing kids will make them powerful or notorious or whatever stupid f___ing satisfaction they get from it. We can control the deer herds some other way.
