I always thought stores would not take an old appliance/TV unless you bought the replacement from them?

Best Buy will only haul stuff away for you if they're delivering a replacement (otherwise they charge a fee), but if you take it in yourself, they'll accept just about anything with no fee and no questions asked.

I've never taken anything as large as a 55" projection TV, so I would check to make sure there are no size restrictions, but I've taken in computers, monitors, printers, phones, cameras, laptops, GPS units, CD players, etc. with no problems and without buying from them.

I never knew that. I have a lot of old electronics collecting dust in my basement......I need to call my local Best Buy and see what their policy is. Thanks for the info!

My biggest problem is how to get rid of old dehumidifiers.

I have three old broken ones in my basement. I know you are supposed to have the freon removed by a licensed air conditioning person, have them tag it.....then take them to a disposal center.

That is going to cost me big time.....then I still have to pay someone to lug them out of the basement and take them to the disposal center. $$$$$$$

That is why they are still taking up space in my basement.
