And it's important to note that it was 1930 that the nation-wide population of people living in the main city of their metro areas peaked - that's important because it shows when "metro area" became the more important classification and "city" by itself started to become irrelevant. But even then, the City of Chicago didn't stop adding households until this past census, and that decline is likely a short-term trend triggered by a gentrification-created inflection point. Only time will tell, but even if household numbers don't resume growth, the metro area continues to grow both in population and households, and economic growth in the parts of Chicago one might call "Global Chicago" remains strong.
He never talked about the metro area just the city, so what are you blabbing about?

His comment about "no geographical boundaries" is a bit odd though. What do you call the Lake, which cuts off literally 50% of the potential growth radius?

Its a lot less constrained than islands like Manhattan or peninsulas like SF. Basically west of the city is wide-open for development all the way to Iowa.

I agree that they are trying to "shake out" large amounts of population...mainly from the South and West sides.

What is the follow-up plan? Please enlighten us.

The follow up plan is to bring in people who are going to be productive taxpayers who have a vested interest in making the neighborhood a safe place to live and invest in while being involved with their children and supporting the schools.

Would this include people over the age of 50 who want to feel they are part of the community as well as getting involved
( ex. neighborhood watch groups)?

Apparently my point was so obvious you couldn't see it.

My entire point was the he was talking about the city as though city boundaries mattered.

Which they don't. If anyone is "blabbing," it's you.

Ask the lawmakers in Springfield if the wishes of people within the city limits matter....
