Hi All! I just moved to Chicagoland a little over a year ago for my job in Oak Brook and I live close to work to be efficient. A green move on my part. However, sometimes living in the suburbs feels like slow death. I do appreciate the short commute and how much I save because of it.

I am 31, single, professional, and I am not a party animal. I appreciate a quiet night rest. But would like to enjoy more of the urban feel and what it offers.

I need help locating the right neighborhood for my commute from the city to the Oak Brook area. The apartment if you could! Preferably a straight line drive, if possible. Close to public transportation. My budget with utilities included is $1200. Or between $800-1000. AND easy parking?

Thanks in advance!

Oak Park or Forest Park both feel very urban but a reasonable commute to Oak Brook. Both have El access to Chicago. Apartments within your price range with off street parking are readily available. Probably 20-30 minute commute.
