Hi, has anyone checked out Second City, the comedy school in Chicago? If so, how are their programs? I feel like I'm lacking a bit in the personality department and thought some comedy classes for teachers might help me connect better with my older students. Does anyone have an opinion on this?

The list of Second City alumni who have made it big in show business is a mile long, just too many to list ..

I've gone to see their shows at least 25 times, and they're usually quite good, and appealing to a borad spectrum of people,

Just go to their website--they have classes, and they also do corporate work, too...

Wow, I'm seriously thinking about attending a seminar for a few weeks there. I'm from out of town, though. Where should I stay?

How long's the seminar, what's your weekly/monthly budget?

Given your likely short-term situation, something like airbnb might be your best alternative.

I completed their Improv Program (Levels A-E) last year and it was a great experience. The facility and teachers are great, and I made some great friends to boot. Many of my fellow students were not there seeking a career in comedy or showbiz, but just looking for a way to have fun, or get more comfortable in front of groups, and such. Most of them found the program to be very helpful. Personally, I found the tools/skills I learned at Second City to be helpful in many other facets of my life, so I can't recommend it enough.

Around $300 per 8 week term, so it depends on what you think is reasonable.
