Anyone actually think this is cool, or just stupid as hell. Donald trump is such a narcissistic moron. No one cares about Donald trump in chicago and his huge last name on a building looks tacky. Now how do I email this thread to him?

I think it's funny. If I were a billionaire who owned a skyscraper in downtown Chicago I can see myself putting my name in huge letters on the side.

I don't think it's tacky. It just shows your wealth.

For example: A lot of schools will name buildings after their wealthy alumni (who put up SERIOUS cash in order to have their name on the building).

Northwestern Kellogg School of Management (Kellogg Cereal founder)
NYU Stern (Leonard Stern- real estate developer)

So on and so forth... it's just a status that shows your wealth. If I could afford to give billions to my school, you better believe it would be named after me.

I'm surprised he has waited this long.

I've seen his jet parked at LaGuardia many times. Guess how I knew it was his?

Well it's called trump tower, so it is already named after him. Obviously.

It's a branding decision made by a marketing dept. not one person.

It would be fine if his name wasn't synonymous with douchebag. I don't think his name is a positive marketing tool. If I were a Chicagoan I wouldn't like to see that on a building; it would make the downtown look tackier.
