I'm moving to Vegas for a contract Job in a few days, and I'm worrying about my car that I have in Chicago. In Chicago a person doesn't really need a vehicle, but I can't say the same for Vegas. I would be working on the strip for MGM/Dell and I know it'll be hard to get around Vegas with no car. I took my car to a mechanic to see if it was possible for me to drive it to Vegas from Chicago 1700+ miles and the mechanic said "It's a risk, It could break down" It's a 93 Honda Civic with 14500 Miles on it. I've never had any issues with the car, it drives perfectly. I can change out some belts and add some oil to help.

Should I sell it and buy a new Car in Vegas? Or should I drive it there and pray to heavens it doesn't break down. I could get AAA road side service.
I also would be staying in a motel until a find a permanent living solution.

Thank you
