You beat me to it. Crazy if and when official, especially for beating out SF where he crafted his career.

This is all upside. Parking lot disappears for a brand new museum entirely paid for by the private from a billionaire. Thanks Melody! Wonder how many years it will take till it opens. As an added bonus the flying saucer on top of Soldier Field (Clone Warrior Field?) won't seem so out of place any more.

Yep. Though you know, Bears tailgaters will be pissed and will probably try and bring some lawsuits. But when you think about it, who's the city going to side with - The project that brings in some new jobs, more tax revenue, and tourism/tourism dollars, or a bunch of tailgaters?

It'll be interesting to see renderings, plans, lawsuits, etc etc that come from this.

Seems like a truly bizarre choice of cities for it, but we'll take it. Hopefully it's big enough and good enough to justify a place on the Museum Campus.

It'll be big enough. The version he wanted to put in Presidio in SF was almost 100,000 sq ft. The original renderings for it look like something that could fit in, though I'm sure they'll come up with new renderings

How does that compare in size to the (Force) Field Museum?

It will placed on a parking lot, which is truly fantastic.
