Will be visiting for a couple of days and staying near MM. Would like to try some good Chicago craft brews with meals. Suggestions for restaurants or bars that have a decent selection of local craft beers on tap, in the true MM area. We are not opposed to taking the "EL" but time constraints on our schedule might prohibit us from getting out to the better known, well regarded ones such as Hopleaf, Revolution, Maproom. We may have to wait for another trip for the "off the grid" ones. We're okay with pizza places, sandwich/deli places, or even that unusual "pub" style attached to a hotel lobby. We've been to Goose Island and Piece. Any other suggestions for the River North/Streeterville/Gold Coast/Lake Shore East neighborhoods?

Most bars will have a decent selection of local craft brews on tap. You could check out Haymarket brewery in the West Loop (would be a 5 min cab ride). Howels and Hood by the Tribune Tower would probably have the largest beer list in the immediate Mag Mile area.

Anything from Half Acre, particularly the Gossamer or Over Ale.

if you can find the time, hit up their tasting room attached to the brewery up in the Lincoln Square neighborhood. Easily accessed by the L and a great place to visit. Good restaurants within walking distance of Half Acre as well.

This was my first thought. There are better, more local options a short cab ride away but if you want it RIGHT on the Mag Mile, I think Howel and Hood is your biggest beer selection.

Howells and Hood looks very promising for our time limit and its location. Thank you so much...any others??

Clark Street Ale House is nearby and has a good selection, no food though.

Keep in mind this place draws a very 20-something crowd and it's not unusual to find a line out the door after 9pm or so. Get there early or use their website to make a reservation.

Gino's East in River North just finished their brewery, but as far as I know, the first batch of beers isn't ready quite yet. Should be ready in January/February.
