My taxes were accepted on 2/16 and still have not been processed by the state. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Has anyone received a refund? I heard they were delayed by the state to provide some sort of fraud protection, but I would not be surprised to learn that this is just the state holding on to the funds for a bit longer to earn a few extra bucks in interest or whatnot. It's not a lot of money fortunately but it still seems odd to me.

I did mine even earlier than that, and still have nothing. This is the first time this has taken so long.

I always end up owing a little bit for bank interest and such. Otherwise income witholding from my job is pretty much exactly equal to taxes owed on that portion of my income.

go to the IRS and go to the Where's My Refund, and then you will know where it is in process.

I did my taxes late January (hooray for online W-2s!). Got emails and texts saying that both had been processed a couple of days later. Got my federal refund w/in 5 days. I JUST got my IL state refund last night around 5pm after receiving a text an hour earlier saying the comptroller had processed it and it would get to me in a few days. No clue why it took so long, but I've been hearing about issues w/ fraud and that some sites like TurboTax stopped taking state taxes for a short while.

Yeah some of my friends in other states have had issues getting their state refunds, too. Maybe a lot of states are scrutinizing the filings more heavily with the uptick in fraud.
