The NFL Draft, as we all should know, is making it's way to Chicago tomorrow for the first time ever. The activities should be interesting and it will bring lots of national attention to the city.
The event will take place at the Auditorium Theatre

A probably lesser known (but more important IMO) event beginning May 4th is the National James Beard Awards, beginning it's several year (at least) stint in Chicago. This is essentially The Oscars of the food world. World class chefs from all over the nation will make their way to Chicago, and events throughout the city will bring lots of revenue and attention to the excellent Chicago food scene.
