This is going to be extremely welcomed by many folks including myself. So many folks commute daily into Union Station via Metra. I take Amtrak fairly frequently between Chicago & various cities in Michigan. Union Station sure can use an upgrade. Other than the Great Hall, it is actually inferior to Ogilvie Transportation Center up the street. The food court is extremely dated & limited in selection. Ogilvie Transportation Center has a better standard food court, and its French Market is unparalleled. It's more like something you'd see at Grand Central Terminal in NYC really.

If this gets done, it will be a nice asset for the city and its commuters, but not necessarily one that will draw too many remote tourists. The rehabbed hub stations in Denver and St. Louis are pretty well done.
