I'm going to graduate college this summer and want to move to either Lincoln Park or Lakeview. A friend and I want to get a 2 BR in a smaller building (2-8 units).

I think people on here were saying LP is mostly low-mid 20's and older people (as in 40+ or something) and LV is mostly high 20's, low 30's. Is this accurate? This is a very big factor for me. How far south does LP go before it becomes almost all older people? How west is too west where the feel isn't the same?

I don't mind the specific location being noisy/popular, but definitely want to be around similarly aged people. Any specific block/street suggestions?

We are looking to spend around $450-$650K. We would like a rooftop deck and we will have two cars. Finding a two car side by side garage seems nearly impossible -- are there any known garages where spots can be purchased or other suggestions here?

I can't get over the fact that someone who hasn't graduated college yet can already spend half a million on a place. But anywhere in Lincoln Park or Lakeview has enough people in their 20's to keep you satisfied. The differences between the two are barely distinguishable.

I acutally think that Lakeview is younger. Lincoln Park seems to have more established rich residents living in SF homes. But LP gets younger as you go east, and then gets really old again along the park. These aren't absolutes--there's a mix of people everywhere in both neighborhoods.

Us Chicago city-data regulars not exactly the type to keep tabs on where you can find a 2-bedroom condo with 2 deeded or assigned parking spaces and a rooftop deck for $400-650K -- that's just a tad too specific for us. We're city ambassadors, not MLS databases. But it's not necessarily too specific for a realtor. So you should probably look into getting one; perhaps you'd do better to put out feelers for realtor recommendations on this forum. I'd give you one if I had one, but I don't. Maybe others do. If so, you'll get it via private message since the forum rules don't allow public recommendations for specific realtors.
