I will be in town this weekend and will be looking for a place to watch the Cubs. It will be wife, me and two 11 year old boys. We will stay in Michigan avenue area but have no issues with traveling to another part of town to find a place the boys can be permitted. I am from Chicago originally so I have knowledge of different areas but I am uncertain of what the attitude will be with kids during such a crowded and intense series of games.
We have been to Timothy O'Toole's and never had a problem with the kids before.

If you have any favorite spots or heard of anything I would be happy to know. Thanks.

The conspicuous lack of responses says that we can't think of any public place to watch the game that doesn't involve alcohol. Even if your kids are allowed into a place, some drunk could make your evening end on a bad note.

I suggest staying in your hotel, or a friend's home.

Haha..i took my kids to a crowded sports bar when our favorite sports team was playing. We had fun and the crowd was loud. How often does this happen with the cubs.. Go out and enjoy the athmosphere.

You might check Fitzgeralds in Berwyn. They advertise it as family friendly. They do serve alcohol.

If you've been to Timothy O'Toole's and didn't have a problem with your kids in the past, then I would suggest it this go around. If not there, I'd still stick downtown. Anywhere close to Wrigleyville is a no go. Kids aside, some places are charging $250 a person just for the privilege of entering.

take them to home run in. I dont know which part of the city you're in, but there's one on the southwest side and of course the original on 31st near pulaski, and another on 109th n western. I have taken my family to home run in before with no issues even tho they serve alcohol.

You could do something like Buffalo Wild Wings, not exactly a unique atmosphere but very kid friendly and you are sure to get a view of the game. There's one on Taylor St and one on Clybourn.

Thanks for the responses folks. I called O'Tooles and unfortunately they are not allow minors for the Series. Of course I am aware there will be lot's of drinking and that is something I am willing to accept and likely participate in.
I am leaning toward the Dave and Busters or the BWW mentioned above. I take advantage of these places frequently in Houston when we want to watch sports as a family away from home.

Yeah Dave and Buster's might be a great choice.

I would also try restaurants, like pizzerias that have a bar and play sports on TV. So places like Giordano's, or Lou Malanti's or even Leona's might be a good place to watch it. More family friendly, and people aren't going there to get wasted or rowdy, but do want to watch and enjoy the game.

I watched Wednesday's game at this place called Dylan's. It was only half crowded but still a good vibe. The benefit of the area where Dylan's is in (eastern part of the West Loop) is that outside of office hours it can be pretty quiet so I wouldn't expect that place to get too crazy. s

If I were you I would avoid bar restaurants in River North, Lakeview, Uptown, Logan Square, Lincoln Park, Old Town, the Loop, Wicker Park and Bucktown. I am pretty sure most will be pretty packed, rowdy, and basically just for adults.

Sports bars (and they have nice ones) in Irving Park, Avondale, Edgewater, University Village and dare I say out in Evanston and Oak Park might be better as they won't be as crowded or rowdy.
