Default Tickets..

I can't vouch for Blue Man Group, but you'd better buy those Second City tickets ASAP; those shows do sell out quickly, especially on the weekends.I'm going myself next weekend as part of my monthy visit to Chicagoland...

Blue Man tickets aren't that hard to come by since they do about 8 shows a week. I just did a quick check at Ticketmaster. Even this Friday's show (4 days from now, and a weekend show at that) isn't sold out yet, though the best tickets I could find were in row W. So it seems that you can get tickets as long as it's at least a few days in advance, and I assume the further in advance you get them, the closer you'll be to the stage.

You can buy Second City tickets online at the Second City website. (I think it's secondcity.com). There is a markup for buying online, I think, but it's nothing like the markup on Ticketmaster.

The mainstage is quite good right now (it's in transition, so the new show may be ready to roll by the time you make the trip). The etc show, which I sometimes prefer to the mainstage, isn't as good, but is still worth checking out. There are also shows most nights up in Donny's Skybox, but those are really hit and miss. I've seen some fantastic shows there (including a few that are playing now), but have seen some real crap, too.

Tickets for all three stages are on the website.

If you can't get main stage Second City tickets for the night of your choosing, I would also recommend the "Etc. stage". The "Barack and a Hard Place" show is great on the main stage, but the "Etc. Stage" is often a little bit edgier and sometimes funnier.

Definitely get tickets a month in advance for the Second City Main Stage show on a weeekend.

Gotta wake up pretty early in the morning to beat me to the punch, cowboy.

By the way, the current show on the mainstage is actually called "Between Barack and a New Show". It's a little bit of the Barack show, and a little bit of new stuff. Really funny.
