When I ran across a picture of Berrios on a super expensive yacht in Lake Michigan, belonging to a friend of his who was a wealthy real estate developer, I knew he was a big time crook.

An alternative is to do what they do in California and assess the property at the last sale price with a limit on the yearly increase. Of course that has issues as well.

A lot less issues and it discourages flippers

It more or less destroyed public schools in California, and it paved the way for insane housing prices, vital infrastructure that has fallen into severe disrepair, and other ills.

I cannot stress enough how bad an idea it is.

Leaving Crook County and the state of Illinois.
That is what we did and we are so happy with our decision. Seems like common sense at this point.
