Hello everyone. Moving to chicago from florida in october 2008. I will be working at Lagrange hospital. My preferred neighborhoods are lakeview, lincoln park or uptown. I can't wait to be car free(hate driving) Does the cta go to the area that this hospital is located? If so, can anyone give me an idea of what line to take? I'm sorry I don't have an exact living address but any response would be appreciated.

I'm not sure, but you can go to Chicago Transit Authority | 1-888-YOURCTA and do the trip planner

Adventist Hospital in the TOWN of La Grange?

According to the CTA (and according to my map) there is no transit service which even remotely comes close to that area.

That's waaaay out there.
Hope ya didn't toss those car keys yet!

Have a good time commuting to La Grange from the north side of Chicago, especially trying to do it "car free."

Well, the nearest Metra stop (Stone Ave on the BNSF line) is about 1.5 miles away. There is no public transit from there to the hospital. Its all residential streets so you could walk or take a bike with you. 1.5 miles is pretty easy on a bike, unless its -20 outside with 3 feet of snow.

Another problem is the outbound train from Chicago stops at Stone Ave at 8:13 and 9:19 during the morning commute. The inbound train stops at Stone Ave at 1, 3, 4, 4:30, and 6 PM. If you have to get to work before 8:30, you're SOL.
