I think you're taking this too literally. They're not holding people at the airport. It seems like the point of the travel quarantine is that you don't go running all over to a bunch of public places after traveling. They're doing nothing to enforce it, basically just saying don't be stupid and don't be inconsiderate of your fellow citizens if you traveled. If you traveled, stay home for a couple weeks if you can. If you don't have to travel, don't travel.

My company's risk management policy currently is that travel is strongly discouraged even for actual business purposes. Flights and hotel spending have been $0 for a few months, and really the people that travel are pretty well paid and mostly above age 40 anyway, so it's not in the company's interest to have 1 or more of them out of commission at once.

"Mayor Lori Lightfoot on Tuesday added Iowa and Oklahoma to the list of states from which people entering Chicago need to quarantine themselves for two weeks because of rising coronavirus levels, and wouldn’t rule out eventually adding Wisconsin to the list as well if warranted. The quarantine order lacks teeth, as officials have hardly any ability to monitor the movements of Chicagoans or visitors."

So pointless

You'd think with a forehead that big, that the mayor would have more sense.

I don't mind the strictness as it has kept our numbers lower than other areas. I just wish she would be as tough and as tough talking on crime as she is on COVID. Of course people do what they can do. She can crackdown but there has not been any politician white or black that could put a dampener on the crime many parts of Chicago faces every weekend.

It’s easier to be tough on the virus and gain a feather than it is for all the crime and mayhem.

Who in their right mind would want to visit Chicago? If anything, people want to get the heck out of there. I wouldn`t worry so much about covid....but the bullets flying.
