I recently traded in my old car, a new city sticker not yet affixed, but in my possession. Can I complete the transfer of the city sticker to my upgraded vehicle at a currency exchange, or do I have to do this at a City Clerk Office? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

From https://www.chicityclerk.com/sticker

---When you relinquish ownership of a vehicle and obtain a new vehicle (different VIN), you can transfer the City Sticker from your first vehicle to the second (e.g. per vehicle trade-in) through the Office of the City Clerk. Car dealerships, Department of Finance and third party seller locations do NOT perform transfers.

---If your City Sticker for your old vehicle is expiring in less than two months, you will be subject to pay your renewal fees at the time of the transfer.

I think you have to go to the City Clerk office but it's pretty easy. You will need the old sticker + bill of sale for the new vehicle and state registration documents. I did this recently and it took about 5 minutes. You have to bring the old sticker in with you and then show your proof documents of new vehicle purchase.

I've bought a car and the city sticker is attached to the car window so tight that i had to have my dealer remove that sticker, they know how to peel it off without it coming off in multiple pieces. If you mean the license plate sticker, forget about trying to remove it, you cant as it will be ruined.

I'm thinking you could get a replacement if you cant remove the window sticker.
