I'm on the hunt to find the best (deli) sandwich in Chicagoland (or Illinois, for that matter). I've tried pretty much any place I could find from local Ma and Pa shops to the more established chains. I still haven't found a place that has really dazzled me yet, though. What suggestions do you have?

Here are a few places I've tried:

Perry's Deli - I like the atmosphere and attitude, and the sandwich I tried was decent, but using plain sandwich bread detracted from the sandwich.

Cosi's - Decent, but a little over priced.

Hannah's Bretzel - Interesting, but way over priced.

Potbelly's - Decent price, decent sandwiches, but not amazing.

Jimmy John's - A joke. First time I ordered a sandwich, I had to go back and get mustard, which seems like a requirement for most sandwiches.

Panera Bread - Probably the best of the bunch. Great bread, but a little on the expensive side.

Subway - I can't eat here anymore. Their bread tastes like a sponge.

Here are my requirements for a great sandwich shop:

Great food - A must. The sandwich must be great, otherwise, why bother eating there?

Good price - I want a good deal. Don't give me a small sandwich at inflated prices. Also, don't try and jack up the price by throwing in a bag of chips I don't want.

Variety - Give me options, whether it is different types of sandwiches or a variety of toppings to put on the sandwich.

Attitude - To top it all off, I like a shop with a little attitude. Perry's Deli has that attitude. Quizno's doesn't.
