Hi,
I just checked out an apartment today on n.Racine at the corner of N.Milwaukee. I love the apartment and love its location as it's in the walking distance to chicago blue line station (i'm working in NW suburb). Before saying yes to this property, i would like to check how is this neighborhood, is it safe and a nice area to live in? for parking, it's by the street, permit needed. Any idea will that be quite convenient or I should prepare my mind for 30 min finding a parking spot?? I would appreciate any advice before saying yes to this property. Looking forward to all the comments!!

Pat

Kinda ugly but mostly quiet. There's a bit of a trouble spot just on the other side of the expressway that you want to be cautious in at night. Otherwise you're fine.

Nah, I mean just aesthetically. You're right near an expressway and some light to moderate industrial activity too, and some of the businesses along Milwaukee could use some sprucing.

It's a generally safe neighborhood. It's not the nicest or very aesthetically pleasing. A lot of the buildings are old and it's not the most well taken care of neighborhood. There is definitely street parking but to say how long it would take you to find it would be hit or miss depending on the day and time.
It's a safe neighborhood to walk around during the day but in the evening not so much. Walking to your car would be okay but going for a midnight stroll would not be the best idea

If I'm correct there are some restaurants, banks, cvs, starbucks within a couple of blocks with new construction here and there.

I would say it's a predominantly white & hispanic area.
