River North is more "24/7" than the Loop so naturally there are more things you have to look out for at night.

There are few places in the city at night that you can walk around and have almost a zero chance of something happening.

So what parts of River North would you say are the safest?

Closer to the River and/or Michigan avenue. The South West and South East portions.

Like I said before however; I do not think buying a condo near the Hojo is a bad idea.

I think you were thinking of the Hotel Dana at 666 N. State. It was demolished a year or so ago and a new hotel was built. They changed the address to 660 N. State. It was such a nice building as well as the building next to it. Very solid design and structure. What a waste of our history and two perfectly reusable buildings.

A particularly ugly hotel at that.
