I didn't realize you don't tip the valet. That makes a slight difference. I really am leaning towards Hyde Park or Lincoln Park. The people at work that found out I am moving have said "I don't know whether to congratulate you or tell you I'm sorry". Not helpful. A lot of people have told me that Chicago is a great town to live in. My only concern is the weather which will suck. I thought I was done with the snow after spending my first 30 years in Canada. You really can't beat the weather in Vegas. A touch hot in the summer but it is sunny almost every day.

I'm sure I will like Chicago. I just need to find a good area where on the weekenk, I won't need to use the car and I can walk to get groceries, see a movie, out for dinner, have drinks and go for a jog.

Thanks for everyone's help. Much appreciate.

I'm not sure which part of Canada you lived in, but Chicago's weather is pretty comparable to Toronto, a little milder in winter. Certainly a lot better than Calgary or Winnipeg or something like that.
