yeah, that is the worst list for a pub crawl i have ever seen.. i second the motion that you should just head to wrigley. southport is just a few blocks away if that scene isn't working for you.

Don't roll your eyes at me, young man!

I'm not aware of the 'other' Charlies, but I like the one in Andersonville, in spite of its hipster pretentions. It used to be too smokey, but now it's great. Yeah, that one's for you, Avengerfire.

If you are going to do a pub crawl there should be a high percentage of bars in one area so you can "crawl to the next bar." Probably the best place for someone the OP's age is the viagra triangle itself. Go to Division St bars and check out Mothers, Bar Chicago, Fin McCools, Shennanigans, etc... and there are even a few clubs out that way if you want including Level and Funk. If you want something more mature & laid back head to around 1700-2100 block of W Division st and checkout Boundary, Fifty/50, Angels & Mariachis, Moonshine, Gold Star, Small Bar, etc. Or as someone mentioned Wrigleyville itself. IMO the best 3 places for a pub crawl in Chicago.

Minibar, Cocktail, Spin, Roscoe's, Circuit, and "Charlie's Chicago" are all gay bars. Trust me, I have been to all of them...as a matter of fact, went to Minibar and Roscoe's on Saturday!

If you really, really want to gay up his bar crawl, in order of location:
Start at Belmont - Spin, Scarlett, Minibar/Winebar, Sidetrack, Roscoe's, Cocktail, Bucks, Hydrate, Little Jim's (shudder), Lakeview Broadcast Company (LBC), Circuit, Kit Kat Lounge, then Charlie's Chicago (on Broadway - Country till 2AM, thumpa thumpa till 5AM).

Now that's one GAY GAY GAY bar crawl (spoking from a gay himself).

I notice you left out the Cell Block and Machine Shop... Perfect for any pub crawl.

It's really really funny that this thread turned into a "gay pub crawl", by the way. I hope the OP doesn't write down the wrong bars accidentally...

I don't even drink and even I have to admit that first list of joints that were mentioned....not really all that. Obviously the best route to go is in River North, but as far as specifics, everyone else above has given some decent suggestions.
