I guess you can but I'm picky and I always assume other people are too. although I've narrowed my search down to LP/River North/Loop so I guess that's why my price range is from 900+. Although, I've checked out a few places in Wicker Park and the prices were the same for the apts I thought were nice...sure there's apartments for less but they're not up to my standard I guess. Depends on what people are looking for.

All in all, we can agree that 400 is too low for an apt in the city unless you like sleeping with the roaches and don't mind not having hot running water haha

Seriously. I mean, the lousy cold cuts down on my outdoor activities, sure. That's because I'm sane. Furthermore, I do have a brief doldrum period in which the weather gets to me and I feel like staying in, but I get over it. By this time of the winter (ESPECIALLY on days like today), I'm out enjoying the city. (Which, I realize, I'm not actually doing at the MOMENT... but I've been out most of the day and will be out most of the night!)

Restaurants, museums, bars, concert venues, theaters, etc all generally have heaters. If you're outside for more than, say, 15 minutes at a time (unless you want to be) you're doing something wrong.

And we were there even when there were blizzards and icestorms, waiting on the L or taking a taxi home. When the weather was -19. In the winter. In Chicago.

Seriously, child. Get a life.

Let me get this straight now, when 'your' traveling to places 'like' Brazil, the 'citydata forum' is on your mind? Not ONLY on your mind, but you actually take the time to respond on it? Wow, you certainly are a dedicated poster, that's for sure!

If don't mind me asking though, why don't you take in the local cuture and have fun while visiting places like that? Posting on the web instead? That's something a 'homebody' would do, not a on-the-go all the time type (especially when in exotic locations). I'm curious to hear your explaination.

How about why don't you stop posting in this forum? You do not even live in Chicago anymore (if you ever actually did.) All you do is add nothing but negativity and mostly false information here.

Man, you firgured me out. I ALWAYS wanted to lie about living in Chicago (for years) cause it seems like a 'cool' thing to lie about. "Negativity" and "false information"? Maybe from your standpoint of view.

Ummm I would say 95% of your posts are full of negativity and false information.
I would also venture to say 95% of the people that have lived in Chicago even a couple of years up to most or all of their life disagree with you on here.
