not sides- I mean someone who lives on Adams and Halsted doesn't live on the Southside.

To me the Northside starts at North Ave. but can start as far south as Division in some places

Westside starts at Ashland Ave.

Southside IMO starts a couple of blocks south of Roosevelt

This is a decent approximation. I generally use the River and Roosevelt Rd. to demarcate where the North, South, and West sides start (everything in the river/Roosevelt/Lake Michigan boundary is the Loop). I've seen many different interpretations of how to group the NW and SW sides into the North, South and West sides - but that map seems about right.

That map is way off. None of the "Far North Side" goes west of the river. For example: The areas that are listed on that map as "Far North Side" that are west of the river are actually the Far Northwest Side.

This is the Northwest side of Chicago. Without the terms Near Northwest Side,Northwest Side, and Far Northwest side added.

The question was what are the North, South and West sides. As I said, the NW and SW sides can be divided into the North, South and West sides in a number of ways. I think that Northsider, Southsider, and (to a lesser extent) Westsider are terms that ate used commonly in the city. Far Northsider? Northwest Sider? Not so much.

According to your map Edison Park,Jefferson Park,Forest Glen,Norwood Park and O'Hare are part of the "Far North Side." No way. Not a chance.

If anything they are part of the Northwest Side without including "far" or "near" designations.

I think most of us know the Madison and State thing, but at some point there is a big nebulous region known as "downtown" (which is bigger than just the Loop), and I think the North, West, and South Sides start where "downtown" ends.
