For all of the smooth jazz fans, WNUA 95.5 is no longer on the air. The new format is a spanish/english radio station.

Today at 9:55am the format changed.

Congrats to the spanish listeners but farewell to all of the WNUA listeners.

Another smoothjazz station bites the dust.

So long Ramesy and Karen......thanks for the good music early in the morning.

Sure he's a jazz musician. He's just too far out for most people.

For home listening the Comcast cable service has a "smooth jazz" channel. For the car one can get Sirius.

Like singers that call themselves "vocalists"?

Saying Kenny G is a jazz musician is like saying The Jonas Brothers are a rock band. Sure they play the instruments, but...

If they're not a rock band what kind of music do they play?

I find it odd that rock and roll was originally a form of pop music intended for teenagers, now people try to tell teenagers that what they consider rock and roll isn't. I was talkin' once to a jasper who said Elvis wasn't rock music. !?!

I think some people confuse what they like socially with what happens musically; they're considering the source rather than the product.
When I was drummer in a punk band in 1977 I suggested we play "Yummy-Yummy" REAL loud with an emphasis on the beat and give it some power-drive, it worked too. But it was the underlying nature of the song that allowed it.

Regards

As if Spanish speakers need yet another station to go along with the 10 there already are on the radio in Chicago.
