I'm a 35 year-old single man moving to Chicago. I'd like to find an apartment (and ultimately a condo) in a neighborhood where there are many single women in the same age group. I'd like to avoid the early-20-something immature party crowd, if possible. My office is out in Oak Brook, where I would need to go three days a week; and I do need to fly out of town two days a week - so the least painful commute (by car or train) out to Oak Brook and either O'Hare or Midway combined with the right neighborhood for singles would be ideal. I've heard that a number of neighborhoods close to downtown are ideal for singles -Wicker Park, Lincoln Park and Wrigleyville. I don't know Chicago well at all, so any/all suggestions regarding a recommended neighborhood given the above variables would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Try River North (on the streets slightly further west), South Loop or West Loop. They cater to the professional crowd over 25 and there are plenty of condos and lofts available.

Play on playah! I was real impressed with a street NEAR Wrigleyville called Southport. I emphasize near because (outside of Cubs games) the crowd in Wrigleyville is in the early to mid twenties. (I counted three water-bong shops without even looking. heh.)

Try Bucktown. You'll be closer to the Blue Line that takes you right to Ohare.
