What are people's thoughts safety wise of Armitage and Drake in Logan Square?

It's not a war zone but it is a bit sketchy, it's a bit too far West for me. I walk to Rosa's a few times a year and have never had any problems, but there is an increase in gangs as you get West of Kedzie.

Thanks for the heads up, much appreciated.

Default I live around Palmer Square

I have lived in Palmer Square area of LS for a while. It is not dangerous, at all. There is a TON of GREAT things to do around here. When people say bad things about it ask them where they live. It is probably an area that competes with us for residents, and is likely overvalued, hitting the downswing, so they are teed off and lashing out.

Default That area is bad

yes, I agree with Avengerfire on this one. This area on Mcclean is really quite bad. Go east past Kedzie and it is totally fine again. South of Fullerton you don't want to go more than 500 feet past Kezie, this is more like half a click, like Kimbal. BullBoxer31 is as far into that scratch that I'll even walk and I am over 6ft, 200lb+ athletic man.

South I even bringit in further to Kedzie, and then after Humboldt going south, you have to quickly pull it east all the way to Western...
Going north of fullerton, you can go further west...

Again I appreciate the info. The problem I continue to have is that I am looking for a condo and all I can afford is a place that's $100,000 or less which seems to put me in less than thrilling parts of Chicago and/or various suburbs. I've been looking at Logan Square, Irving Park and a few other places but I don't really know what I can afford that is relatively safe and where that might be.

Default yes that will cramp things

with 100k to spend my best recommendation would be to look into CO-Ops I know there is one in Logan square that costs around 100k to get a 1 br, but then you pay 700 dollars a month for Coop fees, which don't really go up more than inflation, and include stuff. not sure what. Anyhow, hope to see you around our hood!
