So i've lived in Chicago for a while now and noticed that me or people I know rarely go to the division/rush area to party. Everyone stays in the neighborhoods. I went down there this weekend and it was a crazy party atmosphere to say the least. I found myself wondering if most of the people at those bars are from out of town. There were multiple bachelorette parties. I was wondering what everyone's opinions are on this area. It was so much fun I was wondering why people that live in the city don't go down there more often.

It's a combination of out of towners, single local playboys, "Samantha like" women, and men cheating on their wives.

The above is the stereotype. However, I don't want to generalize

there is usually enough going on in their own neighborhoods that they have found their niche and regular 'going out' places that they need not travel to rush/division. i don't see anything wrong with the area. It has a neat atmosphere. it does cater to a certain demographic for the MOST part, but that isn't to say you don't see a wide variety of folks there every now and then. i always have a good time in that area

It's a common destination for the Chicagoland suburbanites who don't know where else to go. And tourists, of course.

But I was wondering why people from the neighborhoods don't go to this area more often if it is so much fun and so much more crazy? Maybe its just too much on a regular basis and its more inconvenient to get to?
