Why do Preachers say, "God Wants To Know If He Can Trust You, When God Is ALL Knowing?" (doctrine, Jesus)

I don't get this. I have heard preachers say this countless time, God wants to know if He can trust you or you're being tested to see if God can trust you. God is ALL knowing. He knows if He can trust you, maybe you don't know you can be trusted, or what ever it is He is pushing you to know, but to see if He can trust you? Are they making things up as they go along?

I'm confused by your question. Of course God cannot trust us. It is we who must trust him. He is always worthy of being trusted. We are prone to fail. I think God is honored when we trust Him with what we cannot see.

I'm not sure what denomination you are in or if you watch Televangelist, but one of the things they commonly says, is "God did this or God did that because He wants to know if he can trust you." So my question was why do they always say God wants to know something, whey He (God) is all knowing. I think I'm inclined to agree with Phazlewood about the guilt trip or maybe they are just trying to answer a question, but don't know the answer.
Yes, we should be understanding that it is always trustworthy to confess Jesus as Lord and the teaching you refer to is but a religious guilt trip.
I think you're right. As so many answers just don't really make sense or "faith sense." I could site so many examples. I just think much of the preaching that comes across when "they" don't have the answeres are mere guesses. My take on it anyway.

No...not them..."the doctrine of man" made it up as they went along...
Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
They only want to be the recipients of all your possessions, making them wealthy at the expense of the poor.
Jesus said, "If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me." (Matthew or Luke)
"They began selling their property and possessions, and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need." (Acts)
"What is mine, is yours; if you have need of it."
