But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

Quoting scripture is no proof of understanding God. God is Spirit, and ALIVE. That means that we must HEAR HIS VOICE, and if we don't, then we know nothing as we should.

The early church did not preach hell, and there is good reason for that. It is because they HEARD the Voice of God, not simply repeating scriptures.
This is where we must all be brought to. -In His time...!

The the question is, if Peter was teaching others to observe the law, and was rebuked for it by Paul, which one was "speaking the very words of God"? Peter obviously consented that Paul was correct and repented of teaching that false doctrine ...

Yet you cannot provide one single scripture as evidence to the contrary. Not one verse in the bible says that if you do not believe and if you are not born again before you die you cannot be saved. You simply assume as much based on nothing but the traditions of the Roman Catholic Church and the protestant denominations which she birthed.

The fact is 4 of the 6 theological schools(all of which were native Koine Greek speaking schools in Asia minor) in the first 5 centuries of the church age taught Universal Salvation and only 1 taught Eternal Torture(The Latin speaking Roman school in Carthage) ...
And the fact is most Christian in the first 5 Centuries believe in Universal Salvation.

Not only did most Christians believed in universal salvation, most of them also believed is salvation by Grace alone and not by works or observance of the law as you teach, including the Apostles. Even the apostle Peter eventually confessed that salvation was by grace in Christ alone and not by works after he was rebuked publicly by the apostle Paul as i have already proven in another thread.

Yes, Peter made mistakes. Pentecost is a feast of leavened bread, so it is not pure. -But Tabernacles IS COMING!!

So we need to start to TRUST CHRIST who is IN us, and speak as Mercy777 correctly said, imo, and learn to discern wheat from chaff.

Christians today still don't know how to tell the difference!!

As Rob said, God may speak through others, too; but there will come a day, in which EVERY ONE will hear GOD IN THEM, and they will KNOW that He is Truth.
And not just quoting scripture, beating people over the head with doctrines they don't understand, but teaching everyone in LOVE.

Here's an example of the Spirit imparting wisdom before Christ's death.

This verse directly contradicts what many traditional orthodox fundamentalist Christian churches teach today ...

Here we see that one must first receive the spirit of God(be born again of the spirit) before one can even know and believe in the things which are "freely" given to us by God.

But many traditional orthodox fundamentalist Christian churches teach the opposite of the scriptures, that one must first know and accept the things freely given of God before they can receive the spirit of God(i.e. be born again).

Yes and what is our guide in discerning wheat from the chaff? When we pray to God with all of our hearts and souls for his Love to dwell within us - he guides us. This is why Jesus told us to FOCUS on this.... We just have to listen to Jesus, listen, listen, listen, listen - to what he told us to FOCUS on but so many of us dwell on everything else and miss the message!

19and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Exactly. Too many are focusing on Jesus and they have missed the message. It was never supposed to be about Jesus. It's supposed to be about His message. The message of Love.
