Nobody should blame God for the wickedness on earth, because God isn't the one causing it, but Satan is, but many should thank God for the blessings that many are given each and everyday.

The founding fathers of America may have had it right- that after creation...God cut us loose to fend for ourselves...Prophets have come along with suggestions on how to get along..that has been helpful...but for the most part- God allows us to stumble along...all of our human problems come not from God but from humanities failures...God is a cold and distant father.

Hi everyone God is in control and is responsible for all things that occur. What we call bad are from our point of view not Gods. God's plan is to create man in his image and that is what He is doing. Everything, including what we think is bad, such as murder and such ,is for the purpose of bringing man to judgement and repentance and to make him into the image of God. So in the end all things will be to our eventual good as we will be like out Father.

True........ God is creating us in His image, not through any other means than revealing to us, Him who is the exact representation of who we really are.

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18

Any sensible Christian that reads the Bible would know that we are ALL going to have trials and tribulations in our life. That's part of your growth not only as a human being but as a Christian. It test your faith. But I guess some Christians really pay no attention to anything else but the service the pastor preaches on Sunday. Typical.

seems god isnt up to the task of defending us from satan , if the police were failing to keep on top of crime in a city , the commisioner would step down

yes, that makes sense...it's just another one of the many hippocracies of church.

Hebrews 12:4 ''You have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood in your striving against sin; 5] and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons, ''My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord. Nor faint when you are reproved by Him; 6] For those whom the Lord loves He disciplines, and He scourges every son whom He receives.''

The believer can also come under undeserved suffering in order to accelerate his spiritual growth. Suffering causes the growing believer to call on the Bible doctrine resident in his soul and apply it to his suffering. Undeserved suffering causes the spiritually growing believer to claim the promises of God in order to endure the suffering.

Phil 1:29 'For to you it has been granted for Christ sake not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake,

Suffering is a very big part of the believers life. Undeserved suffering is spiritual exercise which strengthens the believer and brings him closer to God.

In Jobs case, God allowed Satan to bring suffering to Job (Job 1:12). This was God honoring Job who was spritually mature enough to handle it and become even closer to God as a result. Very few believers are mature enough for God to allow them to come under the intensity of undeserved suffering that God allowed Satan to bring to Job.

God allows just the right amount of suffering into the growing believers life to get maximum results in that believers spiritual life.

On the other hand, God can apply the sin unto death to the disobedient believer who fails to respond to divine discipline by bringing death to that believer under intense suffering and taking him home to heaven in a state of disgrace.

This is not to say that the growing believer constantly suffers. But there will be times in his life when he will come under it.

And many times, people suffer simply because they make bad decisions in life.

The believer is to give thanks to God in all things.
This is some very great insight. Something I have known and experianced for many years on and off. You say it so well and believers need to take it to heart if they want to grow. It is written "My Grace is sufficent for you." Dare to suffer for the Kingdom of Gods' sake, not foolish reasons, and more Grace is added to overcome and be an example of what overcoming Grace can do and thus be a light that others will want. It is not the suffering per say that has value but rather the Grace that does. Look to Jesus at all times and the afflictions of life will seem light as Paul said. Do not focus on the afflictions but on the blessings. Thanks Mike.

You're welcome. I remember posting this, but it doesn't seem as though it was two years ago. I was surprised to see that it was.

Since there will be no suffering in eternity for the believer in Jesus Christ, the only opportunity that God has to express His love in the midst of pain and suffering is here and now. In eternity there will be no more death, no more sorrow, no more crying, no more pain, for the old things have passed away as Revelation 21:4 states.

1 Thess. 5:18 in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. Be thankful in all circumstances.
