Pauline epistles are the earliest of Christian writings. The genuine epistles were written in the first person by Paul himself. Unfortunately, they seem to suffer from some interpolation (additions or moderation by later writers).
We may get into a debate about this, but of the 14 epistles attributed to Paul, only about 7 are considered to actually have been authored by Paul. The rest are termed pseudepigraphs, later letters written in Paul's name, a fairly common practice in that day.
Some are rather easy to spot. For example, the first epistle of Paul is called 1 Thessolonians and was probably written in 51 AD. 2 Thessolonians, formerly thought to have closely followed Thess 1, is now thought to actually have been written by an unknown author during the last two decades of the first century.
Here's why:
1 Thess 4:15 “Indeed, we tell you this, on the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will surely not precede those who have fallen asleep”
This epistle is consistent with the half dozen or so prophecies attributed to Jesus about the Second Coming during his generation found in the Gospels.
However, when it was realized towards the end of the first century that Jesus was not returning, I Thessolonians was "corrected" by II Thessolonians as follows:
2 Thess 2:1-2 “We ask you, brothers, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our assembling with him, not to be shaken out of your minds suddenly, or to be alarmed either by a "spirit," or by an oral statement, or by a letter allegedly from us to the effect that the day of the Lord is at hand.”
Thus this epistle claims that 1 Thess 4:15 really wasn't written by Paul.

Reason: typo
According to Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus did not abrogate Mosaic Law:
Matthew 5:17-18 ‘Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets; I have come not to abolish but to fulfil. 18For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one letter,* not one stroke of a letter, will pass from the law until all is accomplished.” (NRSV)
In fact, from Acts of the Apostles we learn that the original followers of Jesus formed the Jerusalem community headed by James which remained an orthodox sect within mainline Judaism
Acts 21:20-21 “When they heard it, they praised God. Then they said to him, ‘You see, brother, how many thousands of believers there are among the Jews, and they are all zealous for the law. They have been told about you that you teach all the Jews living among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, and that you tell them not to circumcise their children or observe the customs” (NRSV)
However, Paul taught his followers that the Mosaic Law was obsolete.
Heb 8:13 “In speaking of ‘a new covenant’, he has made the first one obsolete. And what is obsolete and growing old will soon disappear.”

It can be plainly seen...if one cares to open their mind...that Paul contradicted EVERYTHING Jesus said and taught. So who do you follow...Paul or Jesus??????

Open your mind? In your neverending attepts to discredit the Bible, you do not even bother to see what the passages mean. And you call than an open mind?

I know exactly what they mean and one can clearly see how CONTRADICTORY they actually are...you CANNOT claim that Jesus and Paul taught the exact same things...THEY DID NOT!

RESPONSE:
>>Everything<<????
I'm Catholic so we follow Pauline Christianity. But, of course, we're not permitted to admit it.
I hope that I'm not excommunicated for telling you.

Then tell me what "I have come not to abolish but to fulfil" means.
He is talking about the law regarding the sacrofices. He did not come to abolish it, but to fulfill it. HE WAS THE ULTIMATE SACROFICE.
RESPONSE:
No. Once again you are not considering the complete passage. Jesus is not talking about just sacrifices.
Matthew 5:17-18 ‘Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets; I have come not to abolish but to fulfil. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one letter, not one stroke of a letter, will pass from the law until all is accomplished.” (NRSV)
In sum, nothing will pass from the entire Mosaic law until heaven and earth pass away.
