Jesus in Aramaic (His native language) is called "Yeshue misiho".
If you watched the movie "Passion of the Christ" they called Jesus for "Yeshua" which as in Aramaic/Latin/Hebrew mixed.
So many people call him that by Christ' language he spoke.
Both Aramaic & Hebrew are semitic languages related to each other.
If I'm not wrong, the Assyrians still speak modern Aramaic and pray on it, which is unique survived language : O
Most Assyrians live in Sweden, Germany (rest of western Europe), parts of Middle East, U.S. and Canada.

Got a verse for that? In the Greek NT, his name is called Ιησους. The closes it would be called would be "Ye-ay-soos"
John was spelled ᾿Ιωάννης.....possibly being pronounced "I-oh-nas"
I can't answer for the Christians, however since his Name was not Jesus(as) they may desire to call him by his Hebrew name of Yeshua or the Aramaic Eesa. Both of which he would have used and been familiar with. Jesus is a corrupted mis-spelling and pronunciation of the Greek Iesous that did not enter Christianity until the second edition of the KJV sometime after 1611. No Christian before 1611 would have recognized the name Jesus,

His name was written in Greek. Not Aramaic. And yes--in the 1st Century John wrote it as ᾿Ιησοῦς -- not Eesa or Yeshua.
I thought Yeshua was actually the equivalent of Joshua, somebody correct me?
You are correct. The names Joshua, Jeshua, [same as Yeshua since there's no "J" in the Hebrew] all have the root yasha or Yhovah. Yasha means to be safe/saved, and Yhovah means 'self exsisting one.'
And they all mean "God/Yah saves."
It's just that Yeshua [Jeshua] is also the Hebrew word for salvation.
