I'd disagree, as I've seen PLENTY of Muslim jokes on TV & in movies. And when was the last time a Muslim/Arabic was portrayed as funny, sexy, modern, etc? Usually they're written as terrorists, or at most they get a sappy "social commentary" role. Anyway, considering how much disrespect they get in real life (here in the US), maybe they do deserve a break from Hollywood?
P.S. Everyone please keep in mind that this was moved from the Entertainment forum... before you jump on anyone for questioning Christianity or being off-topic.
just out of curiosity on that sexy part....oh nm...it would get deleted..

LOL... but consider it for a second, can you think of ONE Muslim (or even Middle-Eastern) character who was portrayed that way? I first thought of this guy from the Mummy - Oded Fehr - but ironically he's from Israel. Hot as heck, though!
Okay, I thought of one - Omar Sharif
But he's pretty darned old, not to mention he was raised Roman Catholic!
I was just gonna say..One never sees a Muslim woman in any mag or film without the standard "head cover"..or I have never saw one..so it would be hard to label a woman "sexy" if you dont know what they look like
There was an episode of CSI Miami where there were muslim terrorists. There was a woman working for them and she was wearing regular clothing that you would typically see professional people wear, only with a sexy twist. She was wearing skirts (to the knee) and button up shirts that were showing just a little (if you know what I mean), and she did not wear the head covering. I thought it was ironic that she was working for muslim extremists and not adhering to the extreme muslim beliefs on what women should wear.

When I was in Turkey, most of the younger women dressed like that (what you described from CSI)... but they're a fairly "liberal" Muslim country, so I doubt that's common in other countries. And I still can't think of a positive Muslim character, at least not from US cinema or TV.
The entertainment industry is ususally openminded. Take a look at this poll, and tell me what you think: POLL: 'Christian-bashing' in entertainment (OneNewsNow.com) (broken link)
What is the difference in "saved", "born-again", and "Christian"? Aren't they all the same? I think most of the entertainment industry stereotypes evangelist and "faith healers" portraying them negatively due to money and sex scandals. Catholic priest are never portrayed negatively although some have been involved in sex scandals. Maybe the industry is just now catching up and will do this in the future.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is
John 3:3-6 (KJV)
But though he came by night, Jesus bid him welcome, and hereby taught us to encourage good beginnings, although weak. And though now he came by night, yet afterward he owned Christ publicly. He did not talk with Christ about state affairs, though he was a ruler, but about the concerns of his own soul and its salvation, and went at once to them. Our Saviour spoke of the necessity and nature of regeneration or the new birth, and at once directed Nicodemus to the source of holiness of the heart. Birth is the beginning of life; to be born again, is to begin to live anew, as those who—Matthew Henry Concise John 3:3
