He was nothing like how they expected God to be. They had believed all along that God was a savage God( many still believe it) who took vengeance on His enemies. They got it all wrong when they thought the Christ would come to save them from their enemies by slaying them, and here's Jesus Christ who is the exact representation of who God is, saying to them, love your enemies, this is how you are freed from them. Is it any wonder they crucified him?.
They hated him because He loved the world, that he did not value them more than the sinner they looked down upon. Is it any wonder they crucified him ?.

Nope...not surprising at all. He showed a new way to live by loving and sharing with each other...they didn't like that because there wasn't any money, prestige or power in it. Just saying...
Says In Mark 15: 10....``.For Pilate knew that the Chief Priest had delivered Jesus for envy.``.... I have heard of people who hate some of the Evangelical Healing Ministries of Jesus , and they did not know why, but they just did ...... But if you hate for no reason then you can be sure that the manipulation of the devil has to do with it ......So it is best to resist hate ....

And many people are still missing the fact that God has more than 1 attribute.

RESPONSE:
Actually, Jesus wasn't claimed to be divine himself until almost the end of the first century. If he had been, the Jews would never have allowed the Christian Jerusalem community to remain a sect within Judaism. Christians were anathmatized as heretics and excluded from Jewish synagogues about 90 AD just before the Gospel of John was written.
Jesus was condemned and crucified by the Romans as an insurrectionist. Not the Jews. Jesus was one of a number of first century messiah-candidates to be so executed.
Jesus did not fulfill the OT messianic prophecies, and didn't return during his generation as he had promised. And his followers began to break with Mosaic law.

Actually...Jesus himself claimed divinity. And yes--he did fulfill the prophecies. In fact, the entire OT is about Jesus.

I'm sure there was among people...but not among the religious powers that be of that time. It's not much different today...use fear to bring people in and then charge them for it. Just saying...

Eh....actually, most evidence to the contrary. If you read the scriptures instead of spinning them Jesus talks about the nature of the divine without owning divinity for himself. A slight but telling difference.
As for the OT, there were a number of insurrectionists and rebels down through history that claimed to be fullfilments of the prophets. Not a few stories from the life of Jesus were contrived to make it seem as though His coming was a kind of fullfilment. As far as documentation there is actually nothing identifying the man from Nazareth as the Messiah, so much so that some folks have started to wonder if the Jesus we know today was little more than a composite of a FEW folks who lived and preached at that time.
FWIW.
