David Jeremiah is an amazing bible scholar. His sermons often coincide with my life. Mercy Me is one of the most talented groups I have ever listened to. Their songwriting and musicianship astounds me.

I like Mercy Me but can't stand to listen to David Jeremiah unless he has changed a lot -- it's been years since I heard him and he came across as being focused on condemnation of others, a trait I really dislike in preachers.

I started watching him about a year ago. I am amazed by his knowledge and constant striving to learn more of God's Word. I have never seen someone with the amount of wisdom he has.

He sometimes chides the 'prosperity' preachers, ie Joel Osteen, who make it appear that God will give wealth to, and take away the physical sufferings of Christians. Conversely, David says that he feels sorry for those who do NOT endure trials, because those trials are in effect proof that God is working in your life.

I love Joel Osteen but never listen to him. When I have listened to him,I looked beyond the glamour of the big church, and heard a man telling folk that are so messed up,with no confidence before God,by the preaching of the bible by the devil from the pulpits throughout the lands, that God loves them.

That's exactly how I see it, Pcamps.

The problem with that, of course, is that to make a general statement that God thinks everyone is just spanky is false.

Spanky?

So, you equate God loving people with thinking they're, um, spanky?

God sees us as we are. God sees the errors and emotional trauma within us that need correcting and healing, but doesn't withhold his love from us because of those things.
